2nd Annual Best Damn Race Half Marathon & 10K will host the 2015 USATF Florida Association Open & Masters Half Marathon and 10K Championships
Orlando, FL – USA Track and Field has chosen “Best Damn Race Orlando” to host its annual Florida Association Open (M/W) and Masters (M/W) Half Marathon and 10K Championship. World class runners will hit the streets in downtown Orlando on Saturday, February 28, 2015. Over 3,500 athletes will be vying for prize money and bragging rights for this USATF-Florida Championship event.
“I’m honored that USATF picked us to host their Half and 10K Championships for 2015. This will be the first time we will be giving out prize money at BDR race, so we expect an even greater elite field”, said Nick Zivolich, CEO of Best Damn Race.
Merchandise, prizes and prize money totaling $2700 will be awarded to the top three USATF member- finishers in each of the 4 divisions (Open Men, Open Women, Masters Men, and Masters Women).
**10 Kilometers (6.2 miles): 1st place = $100 ~~~ 2nd place = $75 ~~~ 3rd place = $50
**Half Marathon (13.1 miles): 1st place = $200 ~~~ 2nd place = $150 ~~~ 3rd place = $100
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR CHAMPIONSHIPs: All 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place finishers must be 2015 USATF members. If one does not have a 2015 membership, they will be requested to fill one out here: http://www.usatf.org/calendars/index.asp .
The race course(s) are walker-friendly, USATF sanctioned and certified, mostly flat and shaded by centuries-old oaks and paved with bricks that add some charm.
All participants will receive a finisher medal, tech tee shirt, free food, free beer (if 21 or older) and be invited to stay for a great post race party.
