Safety Harbor, Florida April 15, 2013 — The inaugural Best Damn Race 2013 was the first race to open registration with a “ticket-master style” registration that gave runners the chance to register for only $1. Race Organizer Nick Zivolich has confirmed they are bringing back the popular $1 “ticket-master style” registration for Best Damn Race 2014!
“Even with expected growth for 2014 we are going to stick with our core philosophy which is to offer a great race regardless of your income level, which is a “big race” experience for a local race price.,” said Zivolich.
Best Damn Race (BDR) 2013 has been considered by many the “Best Damn Race Ever!” and Zivolich searched for a way to make 2014 even better. After speaking with J Ryan Photography, Nick made the decision to pay for the runner’s race photos, a $59.99 Value.
“People love their race photos but hate paying $60 to get them. I’m going to pay for everyone’s race photos that register for BDR 2014 in the first 24 hours of open registration.”
The $59.99 Digital Download package from J Ryan Photography includes a download of all digital photos that are captured of runners with the video of them crossing the finish line.
With an anticipated registration frenzy, which will open at 10am on Wednesday, May 1st, BDR has upgraded it’s servers to handle the additional traffic. Racersignup.com, the registration company used by BDR, has also upgraded their software and servers to handle the increased load on registration day.
BDR will also be limiting the size of each race. The 5K will be limited to 2,000 registrations, the 10K will be limited to 1,500 registrations, the Half Marathon will be limited to 1,500 registrations, and the 5K + 10K Challenge will be limited to 100 Registrations. BDR is limiting the size of each race to provide a quality race experience that is not overcrowded.
“I want my runners to have plenty of room out on the new course and I won’t sacrifice the comfort and safety of our runners to get more registrations. Based on capping the field we expect to sell out.”
